CALVERTON, MD (May 31, 2024) – The Intermodal Association of North America welcomed two schools into its Scholarship Award Program — University of Tennessee, Knoxville and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (A&T) State University, the program’s first HBCU. Both offer a comprehensive curriculum in logistics and transportation, including intermodal. Together, they bring the total number of participating institutions to thirteen.

“We congratulate this year’s two additions,” said Tim Humbert, vice president, North America Intermodal at C.H. Robinson and chair of IANA’s Scholarship Committee. “It’s an exciting industry, and we look forward to the future contributions of these students as its next-generation leaders.”

Since the Award Program's inception in 2007, IANA has provided $5.3 million to support students in university programs focused on freight and intermodal transportation. The Award provides financial support for tuition, enriches coursework and student research, and facilitates student travel to key freight and intermodal facilities and events.
