Calverton, MD – May 7, 2026 – The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) announced a new long term rotation strategy for Intermodal EXPO that reflects a broader transformation of the event experience, one designed to expand perspectives, elevate voices, and better serve the full spectrum of the intermodal ecosystem. While the destination rotation officially kicks off in 2028, the New Era of Intermodal EXPO begins with the 2026 event, signaling a renewed commitment to enhancing the EXPO experience through innovative programming, deeper engagement, and greater inclusion of beneficial cargo owners (BCOs) and other critical stakeholders.

Under the new model, Intermodal EXPO will continue to host its full scale, city-wide event in Long Beach during odd numbered years, while introducing rotating, single roof destinations in even numbered years.

"This is about more than where we meet—it's about how we convene as an industry," said Anne Reinke, President and CEO of IANA. "Working closely with our Board of Directors, we are intentionally evolving Intermodal EXPO to attract a broader range of BCOs, new leaders, and influential voices, while preserving the scale and strength that define our Long Beach events. The New Era of Intermodal starts now."

Even Year Rotation Locations Include:

2028 – Hilton Anatole, Dallas

2030 – Gaylord Opryland, Nashville

2032 – Gaylord Texan, Grapevine/Dallas

Long Beach will remain IANA's anchor city in odd numbered years, offering unmatched capacity for large scale exhibits, outdoor equipment displays, and proximity to major global trade corridors.

The Rotation Strategy Is Designed To Deliver:

• Greater destination variety and accessibility

• Purpose built event experiences by year and location

• Expanded participation from BCOs and cross sector stakeholders

"As a board, we've put a lot of focus and energy around leveling up the experience at Intermodal EXPO. This evolution will allow companies to engage in ways that will drive even better engagement and value." said Christopher Brach, IANA's Chairman of the Board, and Senior Vice President & General Manager, Radiant Road & Rail. "From enhanced education and speakers to stronger peer connection events, we're creating a destination to collaborate on where the industry is headed for all that have a stake at the intermodal table."
