IANA Event Code Of Conduct

The Intermodal Association of North America is committed to creating a welcoming, productive, interactive, and ethical event experience for all who attend, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, pregnancy, race, ethnicity, color, religion, nationality, citizenship, military or veteran status, marital or other familial status, physical or mental disability, physical appearance, age, or career level.

Antitrust

The Intermodal Association of North America highly values competition, and the Association’s antitrust guidelines are the rules under which all activities are conducted. The following antitrust guidelines are incorporated as part of this Event Code of Conduct - https://www.intermodal.org/antitrust-guidelines.

Event Decorum

Attendees are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy and respect for others and to maintain a professional environment. The following behaviors are unacceptable and will not be tolerated by IANA:

  • Non-adherence to the antitrust guidelines referenced above.
  • Unlawful discrimination or harassment of any kind (including, but not limited to, offensive verbal comments; presentation of sexual images for inappropriate purposes in public spaces; deliberate acts of intimidation, stalking, following, photographing, or recording; inappropriate physical contact, and any unwelcome sexual attention).
  • Disparagement of another company or person.
  • Speaking during, interrupting, or otherwise disrupting a presentation, an educational program, or a committee meeting without first being recognized by the chair, moderator, or speaker.
  • Promotion of one’s company’s services/products or active selling and solicitation outside of specific designated times and areas other than exchanging business cards and contact information throughout an event

All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, IANA staff, service providers, and others are expected to abide by this Event Code of Conduct, which applies to every aspect of their participation. This Event Code of Conduct applies to all components of an IANA event, including all committee meetings, educational programming, exhibit activities, and networking events.

If you are the subject of unacceptable behavior or have witnessed any such behavior, please immediately notify an IANA staff member. Notification may be done by contacting an IANA staff person on site or email hpollard@intermodal.org.

Anyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety is advised to contact 911 or locate a house phone and ask for security.

Attendees who violate this Event Code of Conduct and who do not comply when asked to do so, may, at IANA’s sole discretion, be expelled from the event without reimbursement for any registration fees, have their meeting credentials revoked, have their member organization notified, be barred from future events, or all of the foregoing. In extreme cases, the attendee organization’s IANA membership could be revoked.
