Information Service staff will provide an overview of the more streamlined billing payment process that will be introduced into the UIIA application. The new process will provide UIIA participants more flexibility with managing the annual billing associated with UIIA participation. Motor Carriers and Equipment Providers are encouraged to register for the short demo of this new enhancement.

Intermodal operators across the value chain – carriers, terminal operators, drayage companies, equipment providers, and others – are facing significant disruptions associated with the COVID-19 crisis. Container volumes are down significantly in North America, and blank sailings data indicates that this trend may continue. But perhaps a more significant concern is the uncertainty moving forward – there is no consensus on when and to what extent this market will recover. Faced with expensive assets and high fixed costs, it is critical for intermodal operators to take near term steps to effectively navigate this crisis while at the same time positioning their operations to best operate in an uncertain future.

Jim has an extensive portfolio of industry experience, including more than a decade as the executive vice president and general counsel for Werner Enterprises, one of the five largest truckload carriers in the United States. He will provide an overview on FMCSA's regulatory agenda, including its COVID-19 response and HOS final rule, with time allowed for question and answer.
