IANA provides the industry with value-added Information Services that facilitate business processes and efficiencies promoting intermodal growth and productivity.
The Uniform Intermodal Interchange & Facilities Access Agreement (UIIA)
is administered by IANA and is the only industry contract that governs the interchange of equipment between intermodal motor carriers and equipment providers. The UIIA increases operational efficiencies and eliminates the need to manage multiple interchange contracts and insurance filings.
Intermodal Driver Database
utilized by Class I Railroads, confirms a driver’s identification for facility entry.
Terminal Feed Service
sends motor carrier interchange status information to over 100 facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
Facility Access
IANA provides additional services to support this interchange, including these two, at and within the gates of the terminal.
Equipment Interchange
Equipment use and return is simplified outside the facility gates with these two services.
Equipment Return Location Directory
lists UIIA Equipment Providers return locations and their current return instructions.
Street Interchange Application
provides a web-based platform that communicates street turn and street interchange requests between UIIA Equipment Providers and Motor Carriers.
Global Intermodal Equipment Registry
drives North America regulatory compliance by identifying the responsible Intermodal Equipment Provider for a chassis.
Driver Vehicle Examination Report
ensures an intermodal equipment provider and motor carrier are notified quickly and efficiently when equipment is cited for a roadside infraction.
Roadside Inspection
IANA’s Information Services ensures regulatory compliance by facilitating communication of roadside citation information to the appropriate industry stakeholders while the equipment is off terminal.
Equipment Condition
Equipment condition is further facilitated on terminal through these two services:
Bad Order Equipment Status
streamlines the exchange of equipment status information to assist in preventing bad order chassis from being mounted or moved off terminal.
Driver Vehicle Inspection Report
advances regulatory compliance by providing the necessary information for parties to complete the DVIR on equipment return and then delivering the DVIR to the appropriate IEP to take necessary action for repair.
